should australia take a seat at the UN security council?
i'm just wandering what you think? this week in a meeting with the head of the UN Prime Minister Rudd revealed his intentions for australia to run for a seat on the security council. as a proud Australian i dissagree with that as i don't think we play a big enough role armed forces wise in the worlds security. It also comes at a high cost to nominate a country.

- It is only the permanent members that are made of very powerful nations. I never heard about the cost though.
- I'm with you, Alex. We are not physically larger enough as a country to be able to shoulder that sort of burden. After all, there are cities with a larger population than our whole country. I think we should just keep our heads down, and don't bring attention to ourselves. Trade is our best answer, not politics.
