How did the United States become part of the United Nations?
Did the president sign and the Senate support it with a two-thirds vote? I would really like some references. I've searched the web and can't find a site that explains how the United States joined the United Nations. I'm wondering if it's true that the United Nations charter overrides the Constitution.

- Well I dont have references but you can assume that the President signed it on behalf of the US government and the treaty was ratified by two-thirds majority in the senate. The UN Charter does not overide the US Constitution because it is signed by the institutions that the Constitution creates. If the Charter contravened Constitutional law, the Supreme Court could effectively tear it up.
- The US is basically the ones that started the UN. We didn't join them they joined us. The UN can't override anything within the US. It used to be that the UN was a great organization but over the years, they've become greedy and only interested in their own pockets. They've taken the side of terrorists and murderers. They've pretty much became a joke.
- Franklin D Roosevelt proposed and sold the United Nations to the Allied Nations during WW II.
- A Canadian proposed U.N. Peace Keepers. The U.S. while a member of The U.N. is a contributing member and not under control of The U.N. The U.N. could with approval of The rest of it move against any nation guilty of Crimes Of Agression or Genocide. It could move against even The U.S. if there were enough evidence. The U.S. joined The U.N. Both U.S.Constitution and U.N. Charter would be put to use as genocide would go against both as would tearing up The Constitution. 1948 or 1956 U.N. signs document genocide crime against humanity. Nations meet and join U.N. declare responsibility to prevent genocide. WW2 in mind and Nazis.
